Mud Art Atelier was founded in 2012 as an extension of the Istanbul Art Platform. It offers architectural and artistic solutions to architects, hotels, cafes, restaurants, companies, and art lovers.
Since its inception, the atelier has completed local and international projects; the designers have also been using their corporate and individual problem-solving approaches with their contemporary and new designs.
Alev Araslı and Toygan Eren’s innovative designs are fine art porcelain and ceramics and composite sculptures, porcelain wall installations, and lighting according to the project needs. The atelier is also famous for its Chef’s table designs, which vary in different techniques.
Born in Istanbul in 1972, Alev Araslı first encountered clay in 1995 in the USA. She continued her studies in Vitra Ceramic Art Studio and Çamurhane between 2000-2010. In 2011, she founded the IAP-Istanbul Art Platform to contribute more to society by offering photography, ceramic and painting workshops for adults and children, organizing solo and mixed exhibitions for other artists while working with non profit organisations.
In 2012, Araslı founded Mud Art Atelier under IAP to continue her architectural design/solutions and artistic work.
Aside from her solo exhibitions, Arasli’s artworks have been showcased in several local, national, and international mixed-arts exhibitions. Araslı has attended and participated in bianelles and festivals worldwide and has been recognized for her works, including her art collections. Since 2012, she has worked as a designer and ceramic artist/sculptor in Mud Art Atelier.
Born in Izmir in 1974, Toygan Eren received his undergraduate degree from Anadolu University Fine Arts Faculty, Sculpture in 1998. He then graduated from the same university with a masters degree in sculpture in Social Sciences Institute Sculpture Department, in 2002. Since 1994, aside from solo exhibitions, his artwork has been exhibited in various local, national and international mixed exhibitions.
Eren won the First Award at the Izmir Rotary Club 11.Altın Testi Competiton, and was awarded the at the 2. TRT Ceramic and Painting Competition. Eren has also led educational workshops in various universities and international ceramic workshops about primitive ceramic firing techniques.
The artist has worked in Vitra Ceramic Art Atelier between 2003-2010 as a sculptor. Since 2012 he has been working as a designer and a sculptor in Mud Art Atelier.
